Natives of Berlin, Isabell and Johannes were always surrounded by the vibrant and raw culture of this city. They began asking themselves why this creative energy was virtually absent in the sustainable fashion world. Inherently adventurous, they travelled to India and created their first collection of upcycled bomber jackets, with vintage saree fabrics. And with that spirit of optimism, the Malimo journey began.
After years of exploring the industry from within, Isabell and Johannes identified comfort and distinctive design as indispensable characteristics for sustainable clothing. They developed a collection of feel-good-garments made from Cupro and Lyocell (Tencel). The outcome? A new category of sustainable clothing: silky-smooth key pieces inspired by a feeling of nostalgia. A set of modular garments that can be worn as a suit or by themselves, dressed up or down, matching the occasion and personality of the individual wearing it.
Design that's not basic
We celebrate self-expression through clothes. The opportunity to exercise creativity, try different roles and figure yourself out. To embrace who you are as an individual.
A new level of comfort
Made of our favourite fabrics Cupro and Lyocell (Tencel), our garments are silky smooth, gentle on the skin, breathable and minimise odour.
Easy on the planet
Cupro is made with leftover cotton. Tencel is made with sustainably sourced tree fibres. They are even biodegradable.
